Il girotondo was founded in 1997 by Renata Monfrini her idea has been to manage an open space for the resale of second hand baby carriages, nursery equipment and clothing for children.
Convinced by the effectiveness of her idea, she rented a small room nearby her home and began to show the "slightly used items" by her children and those of her friends’ children. Simply excited to give a "second life" to clothes, toys and childhood equipment all, practically brand new which otherwise would have been sent to eternal storage.
The success was immediate and so much greater than expected that the following year Il girotondo officially opened a 250 square meter showroom in via Dugnani 6 where it is still located.
The process is very simple: clothing, accessories and equipment are carefully selected and put on deposit sale at a price equivalent to at least 50% of the official price list. The sale benefits are divided equally between the customer and Il girotondo.
Over the years Renata’s business has significantly increased to the point where it is required to enlarge its horizons. Today Il girotondo has two stores, one in via Dugnani 6, focused on the sale of second hand clothing and accessories for children, women and men, and the other in Viale Coni Zugna 19 entirely focused on women: such as clothing, footwear, bags and accessories second hand or brand new from the most prestigious international fashion brands.
Thanks to Renata’s experience, professionalism and entrepreneurial creativity, the National Award for Innovation in Services jury awarded Il girotondo in 2013 with a special honorable prize for "second hand clothing" activity and for having developed a successful commercial format in the second hand market.
